How Do I Apply?
If you believe that a client, friend or family member may be eligible, ask that person to write to Project COPE, stating an outdate and a little information about themselves. We will decide whether to send them an application.
After they fill out the application and mail it in, we will then decide whether to interview them in prison. After the interview, if both parties wish to continue the process, the inmate will fill out an Information Release Form, signed also by the caseworker, which allows COPE to talk with the caseworker about the inmate's mental health score, education score, conduct violations, etc.
Finally, we will find a partnership team for the applicant, and that team will come to the prison for an interview. When they do, the team and the applicant will have the chance to commit to the partnership for one year or to say no. If all agree, the person is accepted into Project COPE.
