Who is Eligible?

Who is Eligible for Project COPE?

• Men and women incarcerated in Missouri prisons
• Who have received an outdate from the Board of Probation and Parole
• That is eight months to two years into the future.

We accept men and women incarcerated in Missouri prisons who have received an outdate from the Board of Probation and Parole that is eight months to two years in the future. We give preference to those who committed violent crimes when they were young, served long sentences, have not received serious write-ups in the last three years and have difficult or limited family relationships.

We do accept those who have committed sex offenses, though housing for these clients is often hard to find.

We are a small organization, serving only 40 or 50 ex-offenders a year. Each year, we receive more than 400 letters from prisoners seeking assistance.
